Dermatological Issues for Cats

Just like humans, cats can experience skin issues and irritations from time to time. Many cats suffer from itchy skin, particularly around their head, body, and belly, due to dermatological conditions.

The two most common culprits of these skin problems are allergies and parasites. Unfortunately, the warmer months can often make things worse, or even bring up skin issues that haven’t been noticeable before.

Although we’re still working on cracking the code to fluent cat communication (we’re getting there!), there are several behavioral and physical signs that may indicate your cat is dealing with a dermatological issue. These include bumpy spots, scaly skin, thinning or hair loss, vomiting hairballs, or excessive scratching and itching.

If you spot any of these signs in your feline friend, it’s a good idea to schedule a visit with us. The good news is that most dermatological issues in cats are treatable, and with the right care, your kitty will be back to purring happily and itching much less in no time.

Contact us about the latest treatment options available in dermatology and help your cat get back to their best self!
